Connecting Communities
The 2024 International Parents as Teachers Conference proudly launched its first Indigenous Convening Luncheon, hosted by Parents as Teachers board directors, senior leadership, and FACE program leaders.
This event stemmed from a call to increase networking spaces for Indigenous early childhood professionals and solidified the commitment to support and uplift Indigenous voices and perspectives. The luncheon created an enriching environment for attendees to connect through storytelling, cultural sharing, and collaborative engagement with affiliates and partners serving Native and Indigenous communities.
In addition to the luncheon, a dedicated networking space was established for Indigenous conference attendees to connect with each other throughout the week. An interactive text group within the conference app was also available for attendees, further facilitating communication and encouraging the use of technology to interact with post-conference.
