Board of Directors
The Parents as Teachers National Center appointed six new members to its board of directors. Joining the board are Thelma Ramirez, a researcher at the Ecological Approaches to Social and Emotional Learning (EASEL) Lab at Harvard University, Erica Green, an award-winning journalist.

Also, Dr. Olga Martinez Hickman, who supports cross-sector partnerships aimed at redesigning systems and strategies to enhance high-quality early childhood education; Norma Garza, a certified public accountant; Michael Huesca, chairperson of the board of director’s for Paternal Opportunities Programs and Services (POPS) Inc., and Wendy Schwalbe, the Wisconsin Parents as Teachers State Leader at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Leaving the board and receiving service awards are Steven Rosenblum, associate vice chancellor, University Initiatives at Washington University, St. Louis; Libby Doggett, former deputy assistant secretary for policy and early learning at the U.S. Department of Education; Cassie Morley, Washington State Parents as Teachers State Leader; Kwesi Rollins, senior vice president for Leadership and Engagement at the Institute for Educational Leadership; Yolie Flores, president, CEO of Families in Schools; and Melanie Rubin, director of the Dallas Early Education Alliance.
