Supporting Caregiver Mental Health
Supporting Caregiver Mental Health
Home visitors aim to give every child a strong start by supporting the caregivers – they’re the ones building secure attachments and strong bonds with their children, and they’re a child’s first and most influential teacher. But caregivers can also face challenges of their own that call for support. Irene Corzo, a clinical therapist and the Mental Health Consultant for the Parents as Teachers affiliate in Harvard, Illinois, joins us to talk about how home visitors can think about caring for the mental health of caregivers.
