Parents as Teachers International Conference Expected to Draw 2,000+ Early Childhood Development Professionals to Puerto Rico

Organization hosting its annual conference outside of the continental US for the first time

St. Louis, MO—With Parents as Teachers home visiting programs serving over 188,000 families across the globe last year,
Parents as Teachers National Center announces the 2025 Parents as Teachers International Conference (PATCON25), its premier annual event, taking place October 13–16, 2025, at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Under the inspiring bilingual theme “Alcanzar Nuevas Alturas / Reach New Heights” PATCON 2025 will bring together more than 2,000 home-visiting professionals, early childhood leaders, researchers, and family advocates from across the globe for four days of learning, networking, and professional growth.

“This conference represents our commitment to excellence in family support,” said Constance Gully, CEO of Parents as Teachers National Center. “This year’s theme reflects our dedication to helping both families and professionals reach new heights. When we invest in the skills of early childhood professionals, we’re directly impacting the families they serve and the futures of countless children.”

Conference highlights include:

  • Professional Development at Scale: Over 100 pre-conference and conference workshops designed for immediate implementation of evidence-based practices in home visiting programs.
  • Engaging Speakers: Keynote presentations and plenary panels featuring international experts in family engagement, child development, and culturally responsive practices, with special focus on serving diverse communities.
  • Community Service: Through the Partner 2 Learn Experience, PATCON25 attendees can volunteer their time to support Centro Esperanza, a local non-profit organization that supports vulnerable families and prevents violence, drug addiction, and school dropouts.
  • Cultural Immersion: Networking events throughout vibrant San Juan, offering participants unique opportunities to explore Puerto Rican culture while building professional connections at premier local venues.
  • Flexible Access: Hybrid attendance options allow global participation, with sessions recorded and available through the digital platform until March 31, 2026.

Participants will gain actionable strategies for enhancing family engagement, access the latest research in early childhood development, earn continuing education credits, and join a global network of professionals dedicated to family success.
