Dr. Jamie Augustus-Singleton Hunter grew up in rural South Carolina. She graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Math in 2001. She was a paralegal assistant and a math teacher before she attended the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for medical school.
She graduated from MUSC in 2009 and completed her pediatric residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in 2012. Dr. Augustus-Singleton Hunter served as a pediatrician at Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services beginning in August 2012, as the Chief of Pediatrics there beginning in July 2018, and as the Chief Clinical Officer beginning in January 2023.
She now serves as the Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Augustus-Singleton Hunter does local and national speaking engagements.
