Meet Our People

Bart J. Holland, M.S., ED

Having worked in nonprofit for a good portion of his career, Bart wanted to continue in the nonprofit world, which he has fallen in love with, but do it on more of a national level. Coming to Parents as Teachers in June of 2017, he previously was the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri for 12 years.

Bart has a long history of working in the education arena, having received his Elementary Education degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. After teaching in the public sector for 2 years, he went to work for the State of Illinois, teaching for the Illinois Department of Corrections. While employed there, he felt like he was destined for more, and went back to school to get his Master’s degree in Education Administration.

After a long stint teaching Adult Basic Education, it was at that time that he moved to the big city of St. Louis, where he always knew he wanted to live. Before his tenure at BBBSEMO, he jumped in the nonprofit arena, when he started working for Lincoln University’s Cooperative Extension Center here in St. Louis. An avid theatre goer, sports enthusiast, and lover of Reality TV, Bart has really enjoyed making his impact in the Marketing and Communications world, leading the Marketing and Communications team at Parents as Teachers, and being instrumental in the growth each year of their International Conference.
