Parents as Teachers National Center partnered with researchers to explore parent educators, supervisors, and family participants experiences with maternal depression screening and referral processes to help determine best practices and recommendations for improving future services. Mothers described their experiences of depression screening, and all interviewees discussed perceived barriers and facilitators to these screenings and referrals, as well as influential cultural factors. Recommendations to improve screening and referrals are provided.
