Diversity, equity, and inclusion at the core

Since the start of 2023, Parents as Teachers has added 12 new trainers to its cadre, signaling a continuation of its commitment to diversity; one who is male, seven who speak Spanish, eight persons of color, and four from the western states of Colorado, Alaska, California, and Washington.

Falyn Taylor, national director of Equity, said: “We continue to recruit with the intention of mirroring the demographics of our parent educators and the families they serve.”

In addition, a partnership with the Maine Children’s Trust has allowed for expansion of Parents as Teachers’ Foundational Curriculum parent-facing materials in additional languages, including Kinyarwanda, Lingala, Portuguese, French, and Arabic.
