Melissa Bode is responsible for establishing and fostering new and existing partnerships with corporate, foundation, and individual supporters. She also generates new resources and maintains ties with local and national philanthropic organizations. Melissa joined the Parents as Teachers National Center in July 2018, coming from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, where for more than 21 years she held various leadership positions including Senior Vice President of Fund Development. During her time leading fund development efforts, the agency raised over $50 million in support.
Melissa graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree. She is a member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Among Melissa’s many accomplishments, she has maintained her status as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2007 and is a Leadership Missouri Graduate. Recognized for her outstanding level of service and professionalism, Melissa received the Margaret Slack Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
