Three Numbers Behind PATCON25
6
Countries
Parents as Teachers supports children and caregivers around the world, listening to and connecting with every individual family in unique ways according to a tested and true model responsive to language, culture, and other identities important to the communities in which it’s delivered.
Not only did home visiting professionals from six countries across three different continents attend the conference, but several of those countries were represented on stage, as well.
Addressing three very different contexts, speakers from the US, Nigeria, and Switzerland talked about the ways that together, research and practice create growth in the field of home visiting.
Listen to highlights of that conversation in our latest podcast episode, “Global Perspectives on Home Visiting.”

CSR
Our very first immersive corporate social responsibility event at an annual Parents as Teachers conference brought 75+ attendees to the nearby town of Loíza, Puerto Rico, to partner with a local nonprofit. Centro Esperanza, which works in five key areas to invigorate the community, led the attendees as they helped with outdoor maintenance for the center.
As two organizations who center the well-being of children and families, this collaboration lifted up the heart of the conference, starting what may just be an annual tradition.

Attendees
Flying in and logging on, attendees from six countries convened for four days with one goal: learning, networking, and growing in their ability to serve children and families.
After an incredible keynote speaker, two superb panels, a multifaceted lineup of workshops, and many more chances to connect, each of these skilled and dedicated professionals returned to their communities refined, refreshed, and ready to renew the support they provide.
“Thank you for the opportunity to meet others like me, and to learn more about my craft,” wrote Shalita C. “I can’t be the best for my families if I don’t have events like this to give me more connections, or updates to ways in how to improve my service. I enjoyed every bit of it.”
