FOUNDATION AND MODEL IMPLEMENTATION TRAINING
Parent educators and their supervisors wishing to become certified to provide Parents as Teachers services attend Foundational and Model Implementation Training. Foundational Training (Link to Foundational Training Page) is a three-day course where affiliate staff learn how to use the Foundational Curriculum effectively in their work to partner, facilitate, and reflect. Model Implementation is a two-day training and is usually completed immediately following and building on Foundational Training.
Foundational and Model Implementation Training ties together the Foundational Curriculum with the Parents as Teachers Essential Requirements , guidelines, and standards that together prepare affiliates to provide high quality, evidence-based services with fidelity. Our expert trainers emphasize reflective practice and provide real-world examples and hands-on activities emphasizing the Parents as Teachers approach to working with families.
Model Implementation Training is only offered to Parents as Teachers affiliate staff. Programs interested in learning more about implementing a Parents as Teachers affiliate should contact their Technical Assistance Provider.
