Have you been searching for a way to engage in meaningful discussion with other Parents as Teachers supervisors? Does the idea of meeting regularly with other professionals to discuss topics around a particular focus peak your interest? With the virtual capabilities of O.L.I.V.E.R., Parents as Teachers National Center is now offering a community of practice in which you can engage with other professionals across the country and around the world.
The Supervisor’s Toolbox: Using the Supervisor’s Handbook for Quality Implementation community of practice will begin August 13 and will meet virtually for six sessions, ending October 22.
increase their knowledge and skill level related to the implementation tools in the Supervisor Handbook,
make meaningful application of the implementation tools to their practice, and
deepen their understanding of the connection between the use of the tools, data monitoring and the impact on quality.
Through bi-weekly assignments, participants will practice use of the tools and reflect on their experiences. Every other Tuesday, the community of practice will come together virtually for discussion and discovery. Registration is now open and can be accessed in O.L.I.V.E.R. under Supervision and Leadership. Registration will be limited to 16 participants. Supervisors must have completed Foundational and Model Implementation training. Video capabilities for virtual meetings is required.
Parents as Teachers National Center is excited about the variety of learning opportunities that we are able to provide through O.L.I.V.E.R. We look forward to connecting with our Parents as Teachers family through communities of practice. A second community of practice, Reflective Supervision Toolkit: The Why, What and How of Reflective Supervision, will be available for supervisors later this year.
